Blanket of Secrecy. A secret no longer.

Blanket of Secrecy? Looking at most references to this 1980's cult band, one might believe that the band no longer existed. Whereas that may have been true for a while, the passage of time reveals that they do still exist and that they are writing new songs and re working old demos. Tinker (Pete Marsh) and Tailor (Andrew Howell) the main writers of the now legendary Walls have Ears album, have joined forces again spurned on by the imminent re release of the digitally re mastered album. Roger Bechirian, legendary producer, has also digitised the previously unheard second album which has laid under wraps waiting for such a time as this.
But this is not the first time that they've reformed. In the early 90's, Pete, Andy and Roger got back together to demo some new material at Studio 99 in Plumstead via Andrews home studio in Edge Hill SE18. The result of those sessions was a new collection of tracks which have now been and are being unearthed.
Opposite Ways, Only for You, Greatest Thinker, Can't Live, New Man to name but a few, positively reek of the quality of song writing that BOS were famous for. A powerful releasing of the joint creativity which had laid dormant for so long. Does it matter?
The love of music, particularly in its creation, is a most powerful seed, once planted, no amount of weed killer can destroy it. It remains encased in the heart and mind. The frustration is staggering, when there is no outlet for creativity (not just with music!!). That said, it may not matter historically
but at a personal level, with most creative people being in the same boat, it stands to reason that outlet is very important and that does matter.
It's easy for successful creatives to spout "Art for Arts sake" or "Music for Music's sake" but the music business never thought that way. Failure was not an option but youth sees success round every corner.
The Blanket of Secrecy simply want to express their creativity.
